Ady & Meg.

We'll start this review by saying that we have visited this restaurant before, prior to when we started this website. We have had better experiences here previously, but it's important that we review this as was on the day.

On this occasion, as we had Flossie with us we had to sit in the bar area instead of the restaurant. This meant that we had to order at the bar instead of having a waiter - no problem for us, but we appreciate not everyone's cup of tea.

This restaurant is part of The Oakman Inn chain, and over time unfortunately it's gluten free vegetarian options have decreased, meaning that when we visit Meg eats meat and Ady eats gluten.

On this occasion, Ady had awful luck - the restaurant had sold out of both the main and pudding he wanted - disappointing anyway, but an even bigger pain when you've queued at the bar to order!

Our food itself was ok, but not great - we have definitely had nicer meals here previously!

Finally, we ordered Flossie some doggie-ice cream at the bar, and the staff went to get it. This did not arrive, and when we eventually questioned it, we were told that they had sold out - it would have been nice to have been informed without asking, especially given that we had already paid for it! The restaurant offered us (Flossie) a couple of sausages instead, which was a nice touch, but all in all sadly it was not the experience that we had grown to love previously.

Flossie.

I thoroughly enjoyed my sausages! 😋
