I love a National Trust property for a questionable weather day - but they are even better in the sunshine! We focused mostly on the gardens and parkland on our visit, but your ticket also includes access to the inside of the 17th century mansion.
The parkland was fairly expansive and even though the car park was busy our trip around the grounds didn't feel crowded at all. We spent about an hour and a half here, but could have easily spent longer had we visited the house, the cafe or brought a picnic.
