If you know anything about the Yorkshire Dales, you are bound to know about the three peaks. Some super fit people choose to do all three in the same hike - 25 miles, taking the average person around 12 hours.
We on the other hand opted to do each peak on a different day, enjoying each one for what it was separately. That said, this hike was far from for the faint hearted. Taking us around 6 hours to complete, we considered this a strenuous hike and we certainly were ready for a sit down afterwards!
The route itself was fairly easy to follow, first taking in the waterfall in Clapham, past the cave (which you can pay to enter / extend your day if you wish) and then up into the mountains. The views from the top are stunning, and include being able to see the other two peaks and Ribblehead Viaduct.
We saw very few people on this hike, but we are sure if we had done this on a weekend we would have seen a few more.
Flossie.
I loved this walk, particularly when I managed to roll in something stinky! 🦊💩 I was not so keen on the bath I was made to take afterwards though!
