This is a great walk that starts at the tiny village of Gunnerside. We saw amazing views merely driving to the carpark on this day! The walk is fairly easy, exploring the old lead mine and then heading up into the hills for lovely views of the village.
The route is circular, with an additional there-and-back section - on this bit, we would suggest that you don't go any further than the point where you lose sight of the two derelict houses facing each other (these will be behind you). At that point the path gets very narrow and there isn't much to see.
