Canoeing down the river is a great activity, especially on a hot sunny day!
We started at the adventure centre to pick up our kit and have a quick demonstration before getting into the minivan and travelling to the canoe launch spot, which was about a 10 minute drive up the road.
Once there the staff helped us get the canoe into the river (and us into the canoe!) and we were told to have a little practice before making our way down the river. It was very busy here, but once we got going we were often the only canoe in sight.
We were given about 2.5 -3 hours to get back to the activity centre to drop off the kit - we mostly kept moving (bar to quick stop when we managed to get the canoe stuck!😂) and this was more than enough time. Next time we will take a picnic and pull up for a rest.
We loved this activity and would do this again in a heartbeat.

Good dogs are welcome on this adventure, but I would have spent more time trying to get in the water than in the boat!
