My friend (who is a vegan) and I were well catered for when we took shelter from a storm here! The tearoom staff advised me that they take precautions to avoid cross contamination such as using clean surfaces and utensils and storing gluten free food separately. The only concern was gluten in the air - the staff weren't throwing flour around at the time of making my food, so it felt a safe enough risk to take 🙂
We were presented with separate gluten free and vegan menus, and were delighted to see that we both had multiple choices of scones and cakes! We opted for a savory and sweet scone each, and (as you can see on the pictures below) the gluten free scones were much smaller than the vegan ones, so I was given two of each! 😍
Obviously as always, please use your own judgement - this is a restaurant which contains gluten and we completely appreciate that it's often the staff member that you deal with who makes the experience. On this occasion, we were very satisfied customers.
